GTA 6 Regions: The Six Confirmed Areas of Leonida

Rockstar has officially named six regions in the state of Leonida: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park. Those six come from Rockstar’s own area descriptions published alongside the trailers. Every other border and name you have seen on a fan map, including the counties, is community work built from leaks and background details. Both are useful. Only one is confirmed, and this page keeps them apart.

Vice City

Rockstar’s tag: “Everything in Excess.” The centrepiece of the state and its Miami analogue, rebuilt for the present day. Rockstar’s own copy is pointed about the change of era: “we’re a long way from the ’80s, but Vice City is still the sun and fun capital of America,” a clean break from the neon 1986 of the 2002 game that shares the name.

Both trailers spend most of their runtime here: South Beach crowds, Art Deco hotels, causeways, high-rises and canal-side mansions. Rockstar names several areas inside it, including Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the VC Port and the Tisha-Wocka flea market. Neighbourhood boundaries beyond those callouts are fan mapping.

The Leonida Keys

Rockstar’s tag: “Gateway to Paradise.” A chain of low tropical islands off the southern tip, reached by boat and linked by long bridges, with turquoise water, boat parties and dive bars in the official description. The model is the Florida Keys and the Overseas Highway, and the long span between islands is used as the region’s visual signature.

What it adds to the map is a southern frontier that is not Vice City and not reachable by simply driving, which is part of why water traversal matters this time.

Grassrivers

Rockstar’s answer to the Everglades: mangroves, cypress and slow water where an airboat makes more sense than a sports car. The name nods to the Everglades’ old nickname, “River of Grass,” coined by the writer Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Trailer 2 leaned into it with airboat footage, sunning alligators and isolated communities living off the grid.

Rockstar frames it as one of the stranger corners of the state, where gators rule the surface and the copy hints at worse below. Which of that is a mechanic and which is atmosphere has not been detailed.

Port Gellhorn

Rockstar’s tag: “Live Hard.” Billed as “Leonida’s forgotten coast”: cheap motels, shut-down attractions and empty strip malls that will not bring the tourists back, with a local economy Rockstar ties to malt liquor, painkillers and truck-stop energy drinks. Outlets read it as a Panama City Beach analogue on the Gulf side of the state.

Trailer 2 shows warehouses, bridges and shipping containers. It is the map’s second sizable urban area and a deliberate down-market counterweight to Vice City’s glamour. On community county maps it falls inside Kelly County, which is itself unconfirmed.

Ambrosia

Leonida’s agricultural and industrial heartland: sugar cane, smokestacks and the Allied Crystal sugar refinery. Rockstar’s copy hands the surrounding turf to a motorcycle club, the Final Chapter MC, which supplies residents with “almost everything else.” It appeared in Trailer 2 as flat farmland and processing plants well away from the coast.

The real-world basis is Florida’s Big Sugar country south of Lake Okeechobee, around towns like Belle Glade and Clewiston. It gives the state a working inland interior, which is a genuine departure for a series associated with beaches and cities.

Mount Kalaga National Park

Rockstar’s tag: “Wild, Wild Country,” promising “room to breathe on the state’s northern fringes” with hunting, fishing and off-road trails. It sits on Leonida’s northern border, standing in for the forested highlands where north Florida runs into southern Georgia rather than the beaches further south. Several outlets have compared its canyons to Georgia’s Providence Canyon.

Trailer 2 shows dense woods, rivers and rural back roads. Which activities are actually playable has not been confirmed, so treat hunting and fishing as a reasonable expectation rather than an announced feature.

What about the counties?

Most fan maps divide Leonida into counties: Kelly, Leonard, Mariana and Vice-Dale. Rockstar has not named any of them. They are assembled from leaked material and background details such as license plates, and they are plausible, well-argued and completely unofficial. The same applies to district names like Little Haiti and Washington Beach, and to Gloriana, a second state that appears in leak discussion and nowhere in Rockstar’s own material.

So how many regions does GTA 6 have?

Six named by Rockstar. The number you see elsewhere depends entirely on what the counter chose to count: districts inside Vice City, fan-drawn counties, or individual landmarks. When a site tells you Leonida has eleven regions or twenty-three, it is counting something Rockstar has not confirmed.
