The leaked GTA 6 build contains Lucia, GTA 6 Leak Tracker

Updated August 27. Unaffected, and worth saying why. Rockstar showed Lucia extensively in the Extended Look: driving during a chase while Jason shoots, kayaking, in her own apartment, switched to instantly when the two are together. That settles nothing on this page. The question here was never whether Lucia is in the game. It is whether she is in the leaked build, and only the leaker can answer that. Our position on the answer is unchanged: if a Lucia story leak lands we will report that it happened and not what is in it.

A clip released on August 23, 2026 ends with an on-screen prompt reading “Return to Lucia”. That is the whole of the evidence that the leaked build contains content for the second protagonist. Cyberleek has since said a Lucia-led prologue could be released next.

We do not host or link the footage, and we will not publish story spoilers from it. This entry is about whether the claim stands up, not about what happens in the game.

What was actually seen

Every clip before this one was Jason. That was noticeable enough to become a talking point, and it fed a theory that Lucia is simply not available in the early part of the game.

The August 23 clip is a truck theft that ends badly and produces the first Wasted screen anyone has seen from GTA 6. After a cutscene, the prompt “Return to Lucia” appears.

That is a mission or objective prompt naming a character. It is not footage of her, not a playable section, and not a statement about where in the story it sits.

What it does and does not support

Supported: something in that build references Lucia as a destination or an objective.

Not supported: that Cyberleek can play as Lucia. A prompt telling Jason to go back to her is consistent with her being an NPC in that moment, with a mission handoff, or with a section that exists but was never opened. Nobody has shown Lucia being controlled.

Also not supported: anything about the story. A prompt is not a plot.

There is a competing reading, and it is a good one

We leaned the wrong way on this yesterday, so it is worth correcting properly. We wrote that the prompt suggests the build is not a Jason-only slice. That is one reading. It is not the only one, and the other one is at least as strong.

The alternative, which has been circulating among people watching the clips closely, is that Cyberleek holds a restricted build containing little more than the prologue. On that reading the total absence of Lucia across eleven clips is not a coincidence and not a story fact. It is the edge of what the build contains.

What makes it credible is that the two readings predict the same evidence:

A full build, early in the story. Rockstar’s own Trailer 2 opens with Jason collecting Lucia from prison. If the leaked material sits before that, Jason being alone is exactly what you would expect, and a “Return to Lucia” prompt is an ordinary objective.
A restricted prologue build. Same footage, same prompt, different reason: the clips stay inside a narrow slice because there is no more to open.

Nothing published so far distinguishes them. That matters for two other questions people are treating as settled. Whether Cyberleek can deliver the story material being advertised depends entirely on which reading is right. And the build’s age looks different too: a review or preview build handed out in a controlled way could be much more recent than the roughly 2025 dating that the leaked HUD elements suggest.

Where the poll stands

As of August 26 the prologue has not been released. The vote is open, and Cyberleek’s own framing implies Lucia features in that material, which is an implication from the leaker rather than anything established.

On the office stunt: reporting says at least one person has actually turned up at a Rockstar office. Not ten, and one is not a protest. It is the clearest measurement yet of how much of this audience is here for a cause and how much is here for the next clip.

The prologue threat is a threat

Cyberleek has since posted that a Lucia-led prologue could be next, conditioned on a holder poll and on ten people turning up outside Take-Two or Rockstar offices dressed as leeks.

Two reasons to discount it, and they are different reasons:

Announcing something is not having it. The whole campaign runs on anticipation, and there is a token whose price moves on what gets promised. A claim about unreleased material from an account with a financial stake in your attention is the weakest kind of evidence there is.
Even if it exists, it is old. The build is dated to roughly 2025. A prologue in a 2025 build is not necessarily the prologue that ships in November.

Why we will not publish it if it lands

This is a policy, decided in advance rather than in the moment, and it is worth saying plainly.

Leaked systems are fair to report. A wanted meter, a stamina bar, a fuel gauge: describing those helps a reader understand an unreleased game and takes nothing away from them.

Leaked story does the opposite. Publishing a plot summary from a stolen build cannot be undone for the reader who reads it, and it hands over the part of the work Rockstar most obviously intends people to encounter for themselves.

So if a story leak lands, this page will say that it happened and rate how credible it looks. It will not tell you what happens. Story details enter this site when Rockstar shows them or when the game is out. That is written down on our about page so you can hold us to it.

What would settle the underlying claim

Rockstar showing Lucia in current material. The Extended Look on August 27 is two days after this entry, and Lucia has been in both trailers, so an appearance there is likely without being promised.

That settles whether Lucia is in the game, which was never in doubt. Whether she is in Cyberleek’s build is a question only Cyberleek can answer, and the answer would arrive in the form of exactly the material we have decided not to describe.
