Rumor Release Rated August 1, 2026

GTA 6 Online launches in December 2026

The claim

GTA 6's online mode is targeting a December 2026 release, about a month after the game itself, with the PC version following in February 2027.

Rumor Circulating widely but not officially confirmed. Treat with caution.

A single unsourced post, repeated everywhere. The claim came from TheGhostOfHope, a leaker with a genuine track record on Call of Duty, who posted that GTA 6’s online mode targets December 2026 and that a PC version follows in February 2027. It was posted without documents, screenshots or a named channel, and nobody has corroborated it since.

What Rockstar has actually said

Nothing. Rockstar has not confirmed that a GTA 6 online mode exists, let alone dated one. Its pre-order materials and the PlayStation Blog FAQ both describe GTA 6 as a single-player experience, and no roadmap has been published. See what is confirmed about GTA 6 Online.

Why the date sounds right

Because it matches the pattern anyone can look up. GTA Online arrived 14 days after GTA 5 in 2013. Red Dead Online’s beta arrived 32 days after Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018. Add either gap to November 19, 2026 and you land in December. A guess that reproduces the obvious precedent is not evidence, and a track record in a different franchise does not transfer.

Our rating

Rumor. The timing is a reasonable expectation and the source is not a reason to believe it. Treat December 2026 as the earliest plausible window rather than a date, and watch the Rockstar Newswire, which is where an online announcement and the matching store-listing change will appear on the same day.
