Vice-Dale County is the fan-coined name for the county that contains Vice City, modeled on real Miami-Dade County. Rockstar has not used the label in any official trailer or marketing; it comes from community and leak-driven map reconstruction, which is why it carries lower confidence than Rockstar's own region names.
The logic is straightforward: Leonida stands in for Florida and Vice City for Miami, so the surrounding county maps to Miami-Dade, blending "Vice" with "Dale." Official copy does group Vice City's neighborhoods, from Ocean Beach to the VC Port, under one metropolitan area, but attaches no county name to it. Treat "Vice-Dale County" as a useful shorthand for that region rather than confirmed nomenclature until Rockstar says otherwise.
The real county has since walked into the story on its own. On June 29, 2026, Miami-Dade's administration sent Rockstar a proposal to dress the airport, PortMiami, the Metrorail and several parks as Vice City around the November launch, obtained by The Miamian through a public records request. Nothing is approved, and the direction is the reverse of how it was widely reported: the county pitched the studio.
