A Kissimmee nudist resort is answering fake GTA 6 reviews, and the owners say some came with a bill

Cypress Cove Nudist Resort, a family-run place in Kissimmee, Florida, is now answering Google reviews that are about Grand Theft Auto VI rather than about a stay. The owners say some of those posts were then followed by a request for money to change or remove them. They have said they will not pay.

This is not a Rockstar announcement, and it is not a confirmation that Cypress Cove is in the game. It is what happened after fans decided a leaked location had a real-world match, and then used that match as a review prompt.

What showed up on the listing

Coverage that inspected the recent Google reviews, IGN, Kotaku, Polygon, Dexerto and TheGamer among them, describes two kinds of post.

Some are openly a joke. One says the writer will try to book for November 19 and play GTA 6 for three days in an RV. Another is just the name Jason Duval, with a question mark.

The ones the owners have to spend time on are written as if something happened at the resort. One says the stay was fine until a man pulled out binoculars. Another is troubled by “the incident that occurred in August.” Those lines only make sense if you have seen the leaked clip. To anyone booking a nudist resort who has not, they read as a safety problem.

Polygon notes Cypress Cove had a 4.6 on Google and a 4.7 on TripAdvisor from more than a thousand reviews before this. The fake posts are a handful, not a takeover. They are also recent, clustered, and easy to mistake for guest reports.

What the owners posted

The resort has been replying on the listing itself, labelled as spam and extortion, so that people researching a stay can see the disclaimer next to the post. The substance, matching across IGN, Kotaku, Polygon and Dexerto:

• The recurring names and details, Jason Duval, Lucia, binoculars, a pool, firearms, are references to Grand Theft Auto VI, “a video game.”
• The posts look like a coordinated set of fabricated reviews attached to a real business.
• Some were then followed by a request that the resort pay money to have the reviews changed or removed.
• They will not pay, they will not negotiate, they have documented the reviews and the request, and they are reporting it.
• Actual guests should treat those posts as not describing a stay at Cypress Cove.
• To the people posting: they appreciate the commitment to the storyline, but Cypress Cove is in Florida, not Leonida, and “internet ransom” is not in the marketing budget.

That last line is the owners’. Leonida is Rockstar’s fictional state. Cypress Cove is a real business in Osceola County.

The money demand is their allegation. No outlet we have read has published a police report, a named suspect, or a figure. The owners say they documented the request and reported it. That is as far as the evidence goes.

Cypress Cove is not a confirmed GTA 6 location

Fans matched the leaked resort to Cypress Cove because it is a large, long-running nudist property in central Florida, and because GTA 6’s Leonida is modelled on the state. That is a community identification. Rockstar has not named Cypress Cove, has not named a nudist resort, and has not published a location that would settle the match.

Some write-ups place the leaked area near Port Gellhorn. Port Gellhorn is a real named region. The nudist-resort placement is not. Treat “this is the place in the game” as a fan reading of the August leak, not as a credit.

The leaked clip is also from a build Rockstar has not presented as final. Even a correct real-world reference in that footage would not make the Google listing a legitimate target.

Why this is a GTA 6 story

Most of the August leak stayed inside the usual loop: clips, takedowns, arguments about which HUD element is real. This one left it. A business that did not ask to be in the conversation now has to explain, in public, that Jason Duval is not a guest.

The reviews that are obviously jokes are still using a working hotel listing as a meme page. The ones written as incidents, and the alleged pay-to-remove follow-up, are worse than that. They are using the leak as cover to make a real listing look unsafe, then, if the owners are right, trying to charge for the cleanup.

None of that is Rockstar’s doing. It is also not a reason to pile on. Do not add a review. Do not treat the Google page as a comment thread. The owners have already had to spend time telling people the posts are about a video game.
