The manufacturer name is a nice thread of Rockstar continuity: Duke Arms first appeared as a gunmaker in Red Dead Redemption, so a period-Western brand has been carried forward into modern Leonida.

The underlying hardware is the direct-impingement AR platform designed by Eugene Stoner, the most widely cloned rifle in America and the basis for countless civilian and law-enforcement carbines. Analysts have spotted at least two configurations differing in optics and attachments, suggesting a customization system rather than one locked loadout. The AR/M4 lineage runs through the series already via GTA 5's Carbine Rifle.
