Spotted as a rusted, weather-beaten pickup in the first GTA 6 trailer (December 2023), the "Vapid Ute" is a coupe-utility, the car-based half-pickup body style that real makers sold as the Chevrolet El Camino and Ford Ranchero. Its worn paint and hard-used look fit the rural, swamp-country corners of Leonida that the debut trailer leaned into, away from the neon of Vice City.
"Ute" is a placeholder nickname drawn from the body style, since Rockstar has not confirmed an in-game name, and its exact real-world model is debated between the El Camino and Ranchero given the mixed cues. The Vapid badge points to GTA's Ford universe, though the coupe-utility segment blended several 1970s American originals. No performance, class, or unlock details are official. What the footage establishes is the vehicle's role: a beaten workhorse setting the tone for Leonida's back roads rather than a showroom performer.
