State of Leonida

Leonida is GTA 6's fictional US state, Rockstar's version of Florida and the largest open world the studio has built. It spans Vice City, the Miami analogue, plus wilderness, wetlands, keys, and smaller towns across a map reported at roughly 1.5 to 2 times the size of GTA V's, though Rockstar has published no official figure.

Marketing groups the state into several named areas revealed with the two trailers: Vice City, the Leonida Keys (standing in for the Florida Keys), the Grassrivers wetlands (the Everglades), Mount Kalaga in the north, and the coastal town of Port Gellhorn, among others. The name nods to Florida's real Leon County and to the state's Spanish, flowery roots. Both official trailers frame Leonida as the backdrop for a statewide criminal story following Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. The precise region count and borders vary between fan sources, so any exact tally beyond Rockstar's own callouts should be treated as provisional.
