Grassrivers

Rockstar's answer to the Everglades, Grassrivers is a subtropical maze of mangroves, cypress, and slow-moving water where airboats make more sense than sports cars. The name nods to the Everglades' old nickname, "River of Grass," coined by writer Marjory Stoneman Douglas. The second official trailer from May 2025 leaned into the setting with airboat footage, sunning alligators, and isolated communities living off the grid.

The real-world basis is the vast wetland system covering South Florida's interior, a place of hunting, fishing, and hard-to-reach settlements. Rockstar's site frames it as one of the strangest corners of Leonida, where gators rule the surface and the copy hints at deadlier things below. It gives the map a wild, low-population counterweight to Vice City's density. Concrete gameplay, such as what you can do on the water or which wildlife turns hostile, has not been detailed beyond what the trailer shows.
