Confirmed. For years this was a rumor built on early reporting and the 2022 leak. It is now official. Grand Theft Auto VI stars two playable leads, and one of them, Lucia Caminos, is the first female protagonist in a mainline Grand Theft Auto game.
How it went from rumor to fact
Ahead of the reveal, multiple reports described a dual protagonist setup with a Latina lead named Lucia, often compared to a Bonnie and Clyde dynamic. Rockstar confirmed the pairing directly with the first trailer in December 2023 and reinforced it in Trailer 2.
What is confirmed versus not
