Real footage, wrong conclusion. The September 2022 clips were authentic Rockstar development video, so people are right that they were not faked. Where the claim breaks down is the leap from early build to finished game.
What holds up
Some things visible in that early footage line up with what Rockstar has since shown officially, including the Vice City setting, the two leads, and a general tone. To that extent the leak was a real preview of direction.
What does not
Development footage from years before launch shows placeholder art, debug tools, unfinished systems, and mechanics that often change or get cut. Lighting, animation, interfaces, and mission design all move a lot in the final stretch. Judging the finished game by a work in progress build is unfair to the game and usually wrong.

Partly true. The footage was real, the game it depicts was not final. Rely on official trailers and the Rockstar site, not old build captures, and browse our sourced vehicles and characters for what is actually confirmed.
